Monty Python's Life of Brian (1979 film)

This film was banned in many countries and in many parts of the UK when it was first released. You can watch it now on the big screen with the hindsight of 40 years of social and cultural progress, to see if you can work out why. Or you can simply sit back and let the zany, surreal and intelligent comedy wash over you. This screening will (as always) be introduced by Barry Purves, with informed trivia, anecdotes and some background of the production.
