This bittersweet, highly entertaining comedy concerns the lives of three sisters reunited for their mother's funeral. We listen to their quarrels over arrrangements, their mixed memories of their very feminine working class mother and sympathise with them over their unsatisfactory men. Shelagh Stevenson skilfully charts the joy and pain of family relationships with great insight and humour.
